Residences at Riverview
The Residences at Riverview will be a new mixed used TOD which will create a high quality living environment for young professionals and mature adults and new commercial space. This new development will help to alleviate the shortage of affordable housing in the Mattapan section of Boston. This development at Riverview will provide new opportunity to redevelop an existing transit station lot into a vibrant community which will consist of housing, retail and access to transit.
Location and Neighborhood:
The property is located in Mattapan neighborhood section of Boston on the corner of Blue Hill Avenue and River Road. The site consists of 2.4 acres and located adjacent to the new Mattapan MBTA Commuter Rail which provides rail and bus service to Boston and surrounding communities. In the surrounding area the street level spaces are predominately retail/commercial uses, and the upper floors are either apartments or office spaces. Mattapan has experienced a relative rebirth in the last decade; however local officials believe that this development will help this area to achieve its full potential.
Development Overview:
Upon completion, The Residences at Riverview will provide a living environment that enhances the quality of life for its residents. Of the 175 residential housing units, 25% will be affordable for families at 80% of area median income. This new community as illustrated in the attached site plans contains the many elements of a "High Quality TOD." These new residences will offer the finest in modern conveniences and appointments. All public areas will be tastefully appointed to maximize marketability of these housing units. A new resident community facility will be included for formal social functions and for individual resident use. An entry security system will be provided to ensure as secure an environment as possible.
